I visited the Loch Ness heritage centre last year whilst visiting Scotland. I love Scotland, amazing place and Loch Ness is awesome. However I was surprised to find the centre actually leaving you with the impression that 'Nessie' doesn't exist. I thought that was odd as usually things like that bring in far more visitors if theres a legend associated with it.
What do you guys think?

This is the one subject that I either believe to be a hoax or complete fiction. Sorry guys.
Aren't all the pictures of the loch ness monster been proven to be fake?

I've been to the same centre as IG, and yes, it does add to the no camp!
Have to say that it's deeply unlikely you'd get any plesiosaur still lurking around in a cold scottish loch...

I do agree with both Lina and Stuart. However I find it amazing that the Scottish tourist board push you in the direction of not believeing the story. Its not a bad thing but its not normal

why don't you just admit it go, go gadget legs that you really do believe in nessie?
Just kidding - I'm in one of those moods today......
The question you have to ask yourself is why would the scottish tourist board advertise something that isn't true?
And has Nessie actually been PROVEN to be a hoax/fake? I know the photo's taken have been proven to be fake.
Does anyone remember the Family Ness? I'll blow my secret thistle whistle.....

| Shame to admit it but yes i do remember it, but i dont think it was a cartoon based on actual events.Maybe they downplay Nessie because it attracts the wrong kind of tourists,i am not saying that some tourists with shorts, white socks and sandles is not a welcome sight but i would say that the scenery is a more ideal attraction.

I'm not sure what I believe on this one. Yes they have proved a lot of the pictures etc to be fake but I once saw a documentary I think on discovery where a group of scientists where tracking all the moving objects in the water. At one point something totally took over the radar and they could not explain it. When divers went down it vanished. Now they can't track all the water at once so have no way of actually knowing. I don't think it's what they make it out to be but I think there may be something. Doesn't every story have some element of truth behind it?
Anyway I like the nessies, used to watch them all the time as a kid ha ha!

Hmmmmm,
I guess this really shows our age as some of us don't even remember a tv show called Nessies
Back to the subject though, I have seen many documentaries. The good thing about the heritage centre is it does go into a post mortem type scenario and takes you through some of the more famous tv footage and talks you through the results they found. Some are still left to interpretation though I must say
